B. S. Abdur Rahman University has announced the admissions - 2014 to B.Tech Programmes. Candidates must appear for the BSAUEEE 2014 the entrance examination for admissions to B.Tech. Programmes at the university.
Eligibility :

B.Tech.
- Candidates should have passed 12th standard examination conducted by State Board / CBSE / ICSE or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For Biotechnology programmes, Minimum 50% aggregate in Mathematics / Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
- Candidates should have appeared for the Engineering Entrance Examination-2014 conducted by B.S.Abdur Rahman University.
- Students appearing for 10+2 examination in March /April 2014 are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
- Age Limit : Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1992 are eligible to apply for BSAUEEE -2014.

Candidates who apply online can make payment of Rs. 600/- through Internet banking / Credit Card / Debit Card or should send a DD for Rs. 600/- drawn in favour of 'B. S. Abdur Rahman University' payable at Chennai to the Director (Admissions). Backside of the DD should contain the name of the applicant and other details (BSAUEE–2014).

Admission :
As per the Regulations approved, twice in a year, admissions will be made for the above programmes viz., Session commencing from 1st of July and 1st of January. Advertisement will be made in the leading dailies in April and October and also in the website of the University. Interested candidates may purchase the application form from the Director (Admissions) of the University or download the application form from the website.

Eligibility Criteria :
Programme Qualification for Admission Ph.D. Degree in Engineering / Technology M.E. / M.Tech. or M.S. (By Research) in the relevant branch of Engineering or Technology Ph.D. Degree in Science and Humanities M.Sc. / M.A. / M.S. (By Research)/ M.Phil. in the relevant branch of Science and Humanities / M.C.A. Ph.D. Degree in Management Sciences MBA / M.Phil. / Post Graduate diploma in Business Management or Administration awarded by Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) / M.S. (By Research) in Management Sciences / MMS / 2 year PG Diploma in Management recognized by AICTE
Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Technology of this University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the field of study with a minimum of 10 Years of R & D Experience in National Research Laboratories / Public sector undertakings and with minimum of three publications in refereed journals / two patents.
Mode of Selection :
The candidates desirous of registering for the Ph.D. degree programme shall apply in the prescribed application form through proper channel wherever applicable before the due date as indicated in the notification, issued from time to time. Normally the University will issue notification for Ph.D. admission twice in a year. The applications of the candidates shall be processed by committees constituted by the Dean (Research) for the purpose of selection. The composition of such committees shall be decided taking into account the number and nature of the applications received. Such committees shall screen the applications as per the eligibility norms and be responsible for the conduct of test and interview for the eligible candidates. The candidate should give a Research proposal along with the application and present it when called for interview. Based on the performance of the test and interview the successful candidates shall be short listed by the above committees. For such short listed candidates, the committees shall also help in finalising the supervisors from among the supervisors, recognised by the University, taking into consideration of the preference of the candidate and the field of specialization of the supervisors eligible to guide and forward to the Dean (Research) for placing before the Research Board.
Admission :
The Research Board constituted by the Vice-Chancellor shall determine the suitability of such candidates and recommend to the Vice Chancellor the admission to these candidates in the appropriate fields, after giving due consideration to the inter disciplinary fields of research, if any, and the Department in which the candidate shall be registered provisionally. With the approval of the Vice Chancellor, the selection of such candidates for provisional registration for the Ph.D. programme shall be communicated to the HOD of concerned Department, supervisor, the candidate and the sponsoring institution, if any. The date of registration shall normally be the first working day of the month of July and January of the Academic year in which the candidate is admitted.
